David Calvo-Mora

Doctoral researcher within the "Pharm-ERA" Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network at the Center for Advanced Studies of Blanes, an institute of the Spanish National Research Council, and PhD student at the University of Girona in Spain. My research focuses on plastic wet wipe pollution in rivers. I investigate their role in the dissemination of pathogenic and antibiotic-resistant bacteria in urban aquatic systems. Additionally, I evaluate the effectiveness of subsurface constructed wetlands as tertiary treatment systems to reduce pathogenic and antibiotic-resistant bacterial loads in treated effluents.
