Almando Morain

Dr. Almando Kessy Morain is an environmental and agricultural scientist with a Ph.D. in Environmental Science, specializing in aquatic and terrestrial ecology. He also holds a Master’s degree in Agricultural Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, with over six years of experience in research and collaboration on environmental and agricultural programs. His expertise spans agricultural extension, sustainable farming practices, integrated pest management (biological control), natural resource management, biomonitoring of aquatic ecosystem integrity, and the application of AI and machine learning to data-driven water resource management. In addition to his technical work, he has mentored undergraduate and graduate students, facilitated workshops on regenerative agriculture, best management practices, smart irrigation, and contributed to diverse cross-cultural and interdisciplinary projects. Fluent in English, French, and Haitian Creole, Dr. Morain brings strong skills in technical writing, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership. He is deeply committed to advancing global food security and sustainable agriculture through innovative research, education, capacity building, and programmatic support.
