From time to time, we come across a poster or slide deck with outstanding aesthetic qualities. We know when we see it because we tend to stop and admire it, perhaps ponder how it was built. Through 10+ years of teaching graphic design classes and workshops for scientists, I’ve developed a basic workflow to create strong visuals and help presenters stand out in a crowd. In this 12-minute presentation, I will demonstrate a rapid process to create posters and slides that really pop, even when compared with Canva or AI generated content. Quick lessons/demonstrations on font and color selection, page layout, importing graphs, and judicious use of supporting images will be covered. And we’ll do it all in PowerPoint. Come give me 12 minutes of your attention. I will give you the tools to nail your next presentation.
