In this 30-minute wrap-up presentation, I will give a personal perspective on contributions of myself, students and collaborators on the last 25 years to the broad field of stream and river ecology and conservation. I will highlight several challenges that we as a scientific community have made significant progress on, as well as offer up several additional challenges that face us now and in the future. The second half of the presentation will be oriented toward audience interaction and brainstorming about the future of riverine conservation.
